Hi, my name is Courtney, and just like you, I am a person outside of my work. I am a mom to a little girl, and fur mom to a cat and two dogs. I love a large cup of iced coffee, and will always say yes to petting a dog. I try my best to do the things that bring me joy, and I am learning to balance the many roles I find myself in.
As I have grown in my work I have also found specific focuses that resonate most with me. I enjoy working with high school and college students navigating transitions and stressors that can arise during these time periods. I also enjoy working with pre and post-partum parents as this is another major event that can truly rock our worlds. Aside from these specifics, my expertise are in anxiety and identity exploration and answering the question "Who am I?"
I value the therapeutic relationship and believe this alone can be a vehicle for change. My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, compassion, and non-judgment. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts and feelings, and where they can develop the skills and tools they need to thrive.
I offer various evidence-based counseling services, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness-based practices. I enjoy working with the client to find the best approach and combination to meet each individual's needs.
